Wedding decor is one of the first things a bride thinks about when she gets engaged. She’ll have Pinterest boards full of ideas. Once she’s engaged, she can turn those ideas into reality. Over the years, we’ve seen it all, from classic wedding designs to unique storytelling specific to the couple. We love seeing how every wedding depicts the journey of the bride and groom. It’s inspired us to compile some fun decor ideas to take your big day to the next level.
The ceremony can really set the stage for the entire event. It’s one of the first things your guests see. Circular arbors are all the rage, and they’re so versatile! This bride chose large flower arrangements in classic colors, but we’ve also seen them with macrame backdrops, a full circle of florals, and even the super popular balloon arch. Although, if we’re being completely honest, that one was for a couples shower photo backdrop (still counts…). We also had an intimate elopement that used the banner in the second photo as their ceremony backdrop. The banner told their guests exactly what was important to this sweet couple.
Backdrops aren’t the only way to spice up your ceremony decor. Take a look at that third photo. This couple had one of the most extravagant boho themes we’ve ever seen, and we loved the addition of the Persian rugs to define the aisle. Rugs don’t have to mean boho though. You can find something for every theme, including classic and elegant.
Oh, tablescapes… How we love you! This is where the party is. There’s just something magical about gathering around a beautiful table with family and friends, both new and old. As you can see from the photos above, there are so many different routes you can go. Spruce up standard, white china with a fun charger and colored napkins. We also love seeing the most endearing mismatched china from The Prissy Plate Company, like in the second photo. Another great way to add a little dimension to your big day is to rent or buy a specialty linen for your sweetheart table. The one we’ve featured here was part of a shoot designed by one of our favorite wedding planners and florists, Ivy Marie Weddings.
We can’t move on from tablescapes without talking about table runners. They bring a softness to the table and tie the whole design together. We once had a bride who was a teacher who loves to read. She took pages from books and made her tables runners. It was such an intentional way to tell her story.
Put your name on it!
It’s safe to say we’re obsessed with this trend! Whether is the giant, light-box letters or custom neon signs, they add so much character to the event. While we adore putting your name on display, you don’t have to. Getting a special (to you) phrase or simply “Best Day Ever” will do.
