Covid-19 may be on it’s way out, but travel restrictions to other countries are still in place. Unfortunately, that means your romantic trip to Paris or sun-filled week in Fiji isn’t going to happen. Unless you perhaps start asking yourself questions such as “how much does a private jet flight cost?” in which case you’ll more than likely be able to travel to your honeymoon destination. Chartering a private jet can also give you and your spouse the opportunity to really enjoy traveling in luxury too, instead of just looking forward to the moment you touch down in another country. I understand how disappointing that can be, but it doesn’t mean you can’t have the best honeymoon with your new husband or wife. No matter the destination, it is the heart that should be in the right place. You can bring in the right things (oh, and do not forget to carry one of the best pheromones perfume with you!) and any place that you choose, could become the right one for you, and your imperfectly perfect honeymoon memories! However, the United States has some incredible destinations, several of which are within driving distance of your favorite wedding venue. In this article, I’ve listed five fantastic honeymoon destinations in the southeast. These recommendations might just help you plan the vacation of your dreams.

Asheville, North Carolina
If you studied at UNC, you may already be familiar with many of the Chapel Hill Hotels near UNC, but North Carolina is so much more than the Chapel Hill area. In the west of the state, Asheville is teeming with life and excitement. From the craft beer scene to hiking just outside the city, there’s something for everyone. If you’re looking for an excursion to fill one of the days of your trip, check out the Biltmore Estate. Spend the day exploring the beautiful gardens by horse drawn carriage at America’s largest home. When you’re finished touring the grounds, head to the winery for a refreshing drink before dinner at one of Biltmore’s many restaurants. Asheville will not disappoint! Discover more here.

Charleston, South Carolina
Charleston is the oldest city in South Carolina. The coastal town is full of cobblestone streets, antebellum mansions, and waterfront parks. Go on a picnic in one of the waterfront parks, shop in the Historic Charleston City Market, and dine at one of the many award-winning restaurants. This picturesque destination is completely Instagram-worthy. Perhaps you might want to consider a day trip to one of the surrounding attractions, for example, Hilton Head Island. You can hire bikes with companies like Peddling Pelican Cruiser and cycle around the scenic island at your own pace. One of the most romantic activities to do on a honeymoon! And this isn’t all, there are many different jewels to uncover. Discover more here.

Disney World
Need I say more? Walt Disney World is not just for kids. With four parks revolving around different themes, there’s so much to see and do, a week may not be enough time! While the rides and shows are exciting, and shouldn’t be overlooked, my favorite part of Disney is the food! Epcot allows you to travel the world, exploring cuisine you may not have the opportunity to try otherwise. After dinner, head to Disney Springs or Disney’s Boardwalk entertainment area for some adult only night life. Discover more here.

Nashville, Tennessee
Affectionately known as Music City, Nashville is a country music lover’s dream! You won’t run out of historic music venues and museums to visit. There’s live music and good, southern cookin’ at every turn. Nashville’s history and attractions will keep you busy, no matter how long you’re there. Discover more here.

New Orleans, Louisiana
The beignets alone are reason enough to visit the big easy, but if you need to be convinced, we’ll talk about a few other things you don’t want to miss in NOLA. Remember when we talked about the home of country music? Well, New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz, and the music scene is thriving, especially in the French Quarter. If you’re in the mood for something a little spooky, head to the New Orleans Historic Voodoo Museum, where you’ll learn about the evolution of the religion. The art scene and garden district should also keep you busy before you settle down to enjoy the best Creole dinner you’ll ever eat. Discover more here.
These are just a few of the most exciting honeymoon destinations in the southeast. No matter where you choose to spend your honeymoon, the important thing is that you’re with your favorite person doing something you both love. Remember to unplug and unwind. Don’t go back to the real world too soon!
